WestWater have successfully won a tender with the Water Corporation for the design and construction of a containerised electro-chlorination system for the Jimbalakudunj Aboriginal Community. Jimbalakudunj is a small Aboriginal community located approximately 100 kilometres north-west of Fitzroy Crossing, in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia.
The 10-foot insulated sea container will house the following equipment:
- Hyprolyser iSEC 90 Electro-chlorinator
- Chlorination control switchboard with PLC and HMI
- Local power distribution switchboard
- 225kg brine tank and 200L product tank
- Water softener and water chiller
- Hydrogen leak detection system and air blower kit for hydrogen ventilation
- Self-cleaning free chlorine analyser
- Digital dose pump and injection quill
- Sample return system
- Recirculation pump and flow indication/protection
- Safety shower & eyewash
- All necessary valving and instrumentation for local and remote monitoring
The Hyprolyser iSEC 90 Electro-chlorinator can generate 2.2kg/day of 100% chlorine equivalent as 0.6% sodium hypochlorite.
All aspects of the works will be completed in accordance with Water Corporation design standards and Australian Standards.
The project is expected to reach Practical Completion by early 2026.
