Project Announcement – Electro-chlorination & Polymer Batching

WestWater have successfully won a tender with Leicon Notley for the design and construction of two chemical dosing modules for the Water Corporation ‒ an Electro-chlorination module and a Polymer Batching module. These two containerised dosing modules will be installed within the new water treatment plant being constructed in Jurien Bay, Western Australia.

The Electro-chlorination system will consist of a water softener, two water chillers, a brine saturation tank, duty/standby electrolysers, a sodium hypochlorite storage tank, duty/standby sodium hypochlorite dosing systems housed within an enclosed dosing panel, and a hydrogen leak detection system.

The Polymer Batching system will consist of a hopper for easy load-in of polymer powder into the saturation tank, a clear solution tank, and duty/standby polymer dosing systems housed within an enclosed dosing panel.

Once complete, the new WTP is expected to be capable of treating 1ML/day (20 hours of operation).

All aspects of the design will be completed in accordance with Water Corporation design standards and Australian Standards.

The project is expected to reach Practical Completion by September 2026.
