We took an existing bessa block building formally used for sodium hypochlorite storage/dosing and refurbished it into new chlorine gas facility. This capital delivery project falls under the principals standardisation scheme where they are slowly reverting old chlorination facilities to a new age standard design developed and implemented by WestWater over the last 3 years.

The project delivered the following:

  • Structural modification of the existing site structure to make it AS2927 compliant for storage, handling and delivery of chlorine gas
  • Construction of new chlorine cylinder delivery access landing
  • 4 x 70kg Chlorine Gas cylinder online storage and 4 x 70kg Chlorine Gas cylinder reserve storage
  • Duty/Standby 1kg/hr Chlorinators and Ejectors
  • Duty/Standby Ejector Booster Pump Station
  • Pre and Post Dose Free/Total chlorine and pH water analysers
  • Automated sample return system
  • New chlorination and reservoir control switchboard complete with dual RTUs and radio telemetry
  • Chlorshield Combo 4 Emergency Shutdown Device and Leak Detection
  • SCADA and RTU configuration to adapt Unity Waters standard water base code for chemical dosing
