Rio Tinto Iron Ore awarded a Design and Construct contract to WestWater Enterprises for the disinfection of the eastern ranges pipeline at the Paraburdoo mine. The location of the site is remote and access is often cut off for days at a time due to rain.
The WestWater team designed and manufactured a system consisting of: 2x 2.2kg/d Hyprolyser chlorine generators; 1x 2000L chemical storage tank to provide 5 days back up in the event of failure and no site access; 2x Duty/Standby Digital dosing pumps inside fully bunded cabinet; 1x salt storage tank sized to hold 10 days of salt to minimise the requirement for operators to attend site; Chlorine Analyser and Sample Return System as well as the development of the PLC control board with HMI interface.
The package was designed and installed within 8 weeks of receiving an order, and has completed 1 year of operation without fault.
