In May 2015, WestWater was awarded the contract to build two Chlorine Gas buildings for Douglas Shire Council. To keep costs down in these competitive times, the Council wanted the buildings free issued so they could perform the installation themselves. The buildings were transported to Port Douglas and installed at two different sites: Craiglie Reservoir & Mossman Sewage Treatment Plant. Once Council had performed the installation, our projects team went to site and commissioned the two plants.
It was pleasing for WestWater to hear feedback received from site noting that the Douglas Shire Council was suitably impressed with the quality of both the buildings and installation. This was also our first building installation utilising our new electric shutdown actuators (as previewed in edition no. 03 of our WestWater Newsletter). These new electric ESD’s require no pneumatic actuators or compressed air on site. Hats off to our QLD project team, lifting the standards of chlorine gas installations across the east side of Australia.
