Project Announcement – Chlorinator Dosing Relocation – WA

WestWater have successfully won a tender with the Water Corporation for the relocation of the chlorine dosing point (inclusive of all necessary design work) prior to the Arrowsmith Collector Tank, located approximately 300km north of Perth.

There is currently no downstream buffer storage on the chlorinator downstream of the Arrowsmith Collector Tank. In the event of the chlorinator failing, there is a potential for undisinfected water to be supplied as auto-shutdown can take up to 40 minutes to occur. Therefore, chlorine is to be dosed prior the Arrowsmith Collector Tank. This will provide a sufficient buffer in case of a dosing failure to allow operations to rectify issues therefore reducing risk of supply outage to customers. In addition to this project scope, we will also be installing a new magflow on the inlet pipework for bore totalisation and hydraulic protection, and to ensure the chlorination system meets Water Corporation and Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) standards.

All aspects of the works will be completed in accordance with the Contract, Water Corporation Standards and Australian Standards.

The project is expected to reach Practical Completion by July 2023.
