Project Announcement – Polymer Dosing Upgrade – WA

WestWater have successfully won a tender with the Water Corporation for the design and installation of a replacement Polymer Dosing System at the Denmark Water Treatment Plant, located in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia.

The existing Denmark WTP currently has two (2) different polymer systems: one for sludge dewatering (geobags), and the other for dosing to the Clarifiers and Thickener. The latter system was installed in 2003 and is nearing the end of life.

WestWater will be completing the following within the scope of works of this project:

  • Design and installation of a new polymer batch unit
  • Service water connections
  • Electrical/SCADA connections
  • Interconnecting pipework from new poly batch unit to existing dosing tank, drain line, and overflow line.
  • Refurbishment of roof, ceiling, and floor of chemical building, including safe removal and disposal of asbestos materials.

The installation of an improved poly dosing facility will allow better optimisation of the water treatment process.

All aspects of the works will be completed in accordance with the Contract, Water Corporation Standards and Australian Standards.

The project is expected to reach Practical Completion in May 2024.
