WestWater have successfully won a tender with Rio Tinto Iron Ore for the design, supply and installation of new equipment into an existing electrochlorination system at Dampier Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The existing electrochlorination system is used to dose chlorine into effluent from the Dampier WWTP, for the purpose of irrigation and/or ocean discharge.
WestWater will be installing a new Hyprolyser 560 Electrochlorinator, along with a 4000L Chemical Storage Tank and ancillary instrumentation. This new system will be integrated into the existing chlorination facility onsite, which has PLC and SCADA capabilities.
All aspects of the works will be completed in accordance with the Contract, Rio Tinto Standards and Australian Standards.
The project is expected to reach Practical Completion in April 2024.
