WestWater have successfully won a tender with MundaMurra Projects for the design and supply of two ultraviolet (UV) disinfection systems for Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s Paraburdoo Mine Site.

The upgrade works will include the supply and installation of two low-pressure UV reactors, one at Paraburdoo Northern Borefield and one at Paraburdoo Pump Station 2. The UV systems will each be fitted with control boards, automated wipers and clean-in-place system for lamp sleeves, as well as alarms and failsafe based on critical control limits.

All aspects of the works will be completed in accordance with Rio Tinto design standards and Australian Standards.

The project is expected to reach Practical Completion by May 2026.
