WestWater recently completed the design, construction and installation of new chlorine and turbidity analysers on the Sandpatch borefield collector main and Prison, Racecourse and Werillup borefields collector main at Albany South Coast WTP.
The new chlorine and turbidity analysers have been installed on each incoming bore supply main for residual trim control of the chlorine dosing, as well as interlock of each respective borefield in the event of high turbidity. Additional turbidity analysers have also be installed on the inlet to Reservoir 2 and the clearwater rising main, for monitoring and alarm purposes only.
WestWater are confident that the project has improved the water quality for the Albany Scheme by the means of automated chlorine monitoring and dosing, and turbidity monitoring and controls.
