WestWater have successfully won a tender with Worley Power Services for the supply and installation of two new chemical dosing pump cabinets and associated equipment within the Collie Power Station, located in the South West region of Western Australia.

The Collie Power Station is a 340MW coal fired boiler/steam turbine based load facility. As part of the WTP upgrades and on-site safety initiatives, the Mixed Bed (MB) and Condensate Polishing Plant (CPP) sodium hydroxide metering pumps, pump skid and associated equipment have been identified to be replaced with a new enclosed pump assembly cabinet.

The new cabinet arrangement will be more easily accessible for operations and maintenance tasks, while enclosing the pumps to prevent possible exposure to chemical if a leak were to occur. The MB and CPP sodium hydroxide metering pump skids are classified as critical equipment due to their operational demand from the WTP, so WestWater will also be installing a temporary dosing system to support operations throughout the pump upgrade installations.

The works WestWater will be undertaking will consist of:

• Design and installation of two (2) new enclosed chemical dosing pump skids inside an enclosed cabinet, including all ancillary equipment and instrumentation.
• Design and construction of a temporary dosing system.
• Demolition and safe removal of existing equipment.
• Factory acceptance testing of the new chemical dosing cabinets.
• Site installation, including site acceptance testing.

All aspects of the works will be completed in accordance with the Contract, relevant design standards, and Australian Standards.

The project is expected to reach Practical Completion by June 2026.
