Project Announcement – Coombabah STP Sodium Hypo Dosing & Storage Upgrades, QLD

WestWater has been engaged by Lendlease/Acciona Joint Venture to complete an upgrade of the Sodium Hypo Dosing and Storage Facility at Gold Coast City Councils, Coombabah STP.

The Coombabah STP is already the largest sewage treatment plant in the city, servicing an estimated population of approximately 330,000 (approximately 50% of the City’s sewage). This subcontract will form part of the councils overlying Stage 6 Upgrade which is designed to increase the capacity of the treatment plant in order to cater for anticipated increased flows to the plant.

The sodium hypo capacity will be upgraded to safely store a total of 25,000L of chemical onsite and the ability to dose into a new chlorine contact tank via a duty/assist dosing system capable of dosing chemical at a quantified 1,100l/hr.

All aspects of the works will be completed in accordance with the Contract and Australian Standards.

The project is expected to reach Practical Completion by the end of June 2021.
