Project Announcement – Sludge Thickener Feed Pumps – WA

 

WestWater have successfully won a tender with the Water Corporation for the supply and installation of two (2) replacement sludge thickener feed pumps within the backwash holding tank at Samson Brook WTP, located approximately 130km south of Perth in the Peel Region of Western Australia.

During a routine assessment of the site carried out by the Water Corporation in 2021, the existing submersible pumps feeding the backwash thickener tank were deemed to be in poor condition and require replacement.

WestWater will be completing the following within the scope of works for this project:

  • Removal of the existing submersible pumps on site.
  • Installation of two (2) new submersible pumps along with duckfoot bends, guiderails, and pump monitoring relay.
  • Installation of a new Bermad throttling valve.
  • Relocation of the existing discharge magflow on site.
  • Updates to Water Corporation SCADA system.
  • Commissioning of new asset, with assistance from Water Corporation plant operators.
  • As-Constructed drafting of drawings to show new asset installed.

All aspects of the works will be completed in accordance with the Contract, Water Corporation Standards, and Australian Standards.

The project is expected to reach Practical Completion in May 2024.
